Faith Leaders Event – Let’s Talk about Adult Safeguarding…
We are inviting all Faith Leaders to our event about a subject that can sometimes be difficult to talk about, we know that as a person of faith you would want to protect the vulnerable citizens of Thurrock as much as we do. We’d really like you to join us in a conversation about Adult Safeguarding on 4 February 2020 at 10am, South Essex College, New Road, Grays, RM17 6TF OR 6:30pm, Thurrock Council, Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, RM17 6SL, refreshments on arrival.
The conversation will cover:
• Awareness of adult abuse and neglect
• What action to take if you are concerned about an adult, and
• The needs of the community to make adult safeguarding more effective and accessible
This event will be hosted by the Thurrock Safeguarding Adults Board (TSAB). TSAB is a statutory, multi-agency board where Thurrock Council, Health, the Police and others involved with vulnerable adults, meet to ensure that effective adult safeguarding processes are in place and are working well.
Part of this process, is finding out the views of key people who have a lot of direct contact with the local community and this is where you come in.
The TSAB is hoping to develop a long-lasting relationship with representatives of the faith sector, a group currently unrepresented at the board. It feels like now is a good time to come together to talk, share advice and provide support. So please kindly come along to our meeting or nominate someone to do so.
More information about the board can be found at https://www.thurrocksab.org.uk/what-we-do/work-of-thurrock-sab/
To register your place send an email to TSAB@thurrock.gov.uk we look forward to meeting you.
