Safeguarding adults – basic awareness
Thurrock Council offers regular half-day training sessions to raise awareness of adult abuse, neglect and what adult safeguarding is.
Who for: Anyone who, as part of their employment or voluntary role, helps vulnerable people with their health, housing or social care needs. This includes Faith and Community Groups as well as Providers and statutory agencies.
This training is mandatory for all new starters to Thurrock Council.
No previous experience is needed. If you have received this training before, you should attend again every 3 years.
What you will learn:
- what abuse and neglect is
- who is a vulnerable adult
- types of abuse and their potential signs and symptoms
- the facts around abuse
- who to contact if you are worried about an adult
